ASHWAGANDHA

Ashwagandha is used in Ayurvedic medicine known by the name of Indian Ginseng. Ashwagandha root has anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties and high levels of antioxidants which is great for protecting the skin from free radicals, blemishes, and fine lines.

SHATAVARI

Shatavari is both a purifying and nourishing adaptogenic herb. Infused into oil, Shatavari is absorbed into the skin, rejuvenating skin elasticity and restoring hydration.

GHEE

We use ghee as a base oil in our body care because it hydrates, protects, and nourishes the skin on a very deep level. It absorbs beautifully when massaged into the skin and hair vs creams that generally just sit on the surfaces. Because we infuse all of our herbal ingredients in ghee, we are able to maximize this oil’s ability to carry the benefits of those herbs, deeply into the tissues for optimal results.

ALOE

Our certified organic Aloe Vera is loaded with skin beneficial vitamins and minerals that are ideal for soothing and cooling the skin and is commonly used topically to treat sunburned skin, skin irritations, and inflammation. Aloe Vera infusions not only offer deep hydration but help repair and regenerates skin tissue.

Our Ayurvedic Body Oil is shipped with a cap on the bottle and includes a pump for dispensing. The viscosity of the body oil can change due to the weather and climate of the area where you’re located. The coconut oil and ghee that are healing and nourishing are actually thicker in composition than other oils and tend to solidify if not kept at a constant warm temperature.

If some of the oils do solidify, it can appear that there are small, granular-sized beads at the bottom of the bottle. Customers tend to enjoy this for an added layer of exfoliation and the beads of oil will melt into your skin during application. For those customers that would prefer a smoother texture, we suggest warming the body oil in a cup of warm water or in the shower to help liquefy all of the ingredients.

If pumping becomes too difficult, we suggest removing it from the bottle and running hot water through it to help melt away any oils that may have thickened in the mechanism or just pour directly from the bottle.

EXFOLIATE THE SKIN

Gently exfoliate the skin using our raw silk garshana gloves.

MASSAGE BODY

Warm the oil if desired and massage it into the entire body. Let sit for up to 20 minutes before showering. The longer it sits the deeper it hydrates!

SHOWER

Shower, allowing the warm water to transport the oil deeper into the tissues. Do not wash with soap and use warm water as hot water can aggravate and dry out the skin further.

PAT DRY

After showering, pat yourself dry leaving some oil on the skin to continue nourishing throughout the day. Be sure to thoroughly wash away any remaining oil off the shower floor with water and soap to prevent any slipping!

WHEN TO USE

Our Ground Body Oil is most beneficial during the fall/winter months when the weather is cold and dry.

This formula is also helpful if your mind, body, or dosha type is primarily Vata and you have a tendency towards experiencing dry skin, racing mind/anxiety. This oil also helps to relieve feelings of dryness, being ungrounded or anxious.

WHY YOU SHOULD USE

The base oils used in this blend are warm, heavy, deeply hydrating, and nourishing. The herbs that we infuse into these oils are nourishing to the skin and calming to the mind. Together, the blend of oils and herbs work together to balance dryness, coolness, and restlessness.

How to Use Ayurvedic Body Oil:
  1. Warm the oil first: place the whole bottle into a large mug of hot water to liquefy the oils.

  2. Massage oil into your body using slow rhythmic strokes and circular motions. If you have time, let oil sit for up to 20 minutes, covering yourself to stay warm.

  3. Shower with warm water to transport the oil deeper into your skin, and rinse off any excess oil your body didn't absorb. Use natural soap as needed. Towel off and dress as usual.

IMPORTANT: Wash your shower floor with hot water and soap after each use to prevent slipping.
